Day 1 - Ayutthaya, Lopburi

Begin in Bangkok, stopping first at Bang Pa In, the former home of the kings of Ayutthaya. Particularly pleasing is the Thai pavilion built in the middle of a lake and the Chinese-style palace Vihat Chamrun and their bushes trimmed in elephant shapes. This step back in time continues to Ayutthaya, the capital of Siam from 1350 to 1767 and home to historic temples such as Wat Srisanpetch, Wat Yai Chai Mongkol and other beautiful temples at Wat Chai Watthanaram. The next stop is Lopburi and a visit to Phra Prang Sam Yod, a temple with three towers and impressive ornaments before continuing on to Phitsanulok. |

Day 2 - Phitsanulok to Chiang Rai

The day begins with breakfast at the hotel and the trip continues on to Sukhothai, the first capital of the Thai Kingdom, dating back to the 13th Century. Considered one of Asia’s most important historical destinations, Old Sukhothai is an UNESCO World Heritage Site, thus making it a must-see stop for all travelers. After visiting the temples Wat Sra Sri and Wat Sri Chim, the excursion continues to Sri Satchanalai, the former sister town of Sukhothai. After a brief lunch and a visit to some of the city’s most interesting temples and ancient ruins, the day continues with a drive north to Chiang Rai. |

Day 3 - Chiang Rai

Day three of this fascinating tour begins with breakfast at the hotel followed by face to face encounters with the exotic Akha and Yao hill tribes of Northern Thailand. On the way, guests can observe beautiful landscapes and spectacular views as they travel along the narrow hilly roads. From there they continue to Mae Sai, situated on the Burmese border. Continue to the center of the infamous “Golden Triangle,” the meeting point of Burma, Laos and Thailand (an optional boat ride on the Mekong River is available). Visit the old Opium House before continuing to the town of Chiang Saen, also located on the scenic borders of the Mekong. |

Day 4 - Chiang Mai

The first stop is Mae Ka Chan, a city famed for its hot springs before continuing through scenic hillsides and jungles to the “Rose of the North,” Chiang Mai, a place where locals are at the same time proud of the city's 700-year history. Upon arriving in the city and having lunch at a local restaurant, guest will drive to the mountain temple Wat Phra Dhat Doi Suthep before continuing to the hotel. After settling in, the guests will be treated to a traditional ‘Kantoke’ dinner (which includes typical Thai dinner from the region) while being entertained by elegant Thai dancers until the conclusion of the evening. |

Day 5 - Chiang Mai

Steeped in a rich traditional heritage and unique culture, a trip to Chiang Mai is an essential part of any travel itinerary in Thailand. This day begins with breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a full day of activities including a trip to an elephant camp in early morning, where visitors will see these majestic beasts at work (with the option to take a ride on one). Next up is a visit to the Orchid and Butterfly Farm right before lunch followed by shopping at the fascinating handicraft villages at San Kampaeng. Return to the hotel in the evening and enjoy some leisure time. |

Fly from Chiang Mai to Bangkok and transfer to the hotel. Sightseeing includes The Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew (the Temple of the Emerald Buddha), Wat Po (the Temple of the Reclining Buddha). Travel on the picturesque Chao Phraya River (also known as the River of the Kings) and throughout the klongs (canals) of Thonburi situated on the West side of the river from Bangkok. Also visit the famous floating market at Ratchaburi and enjoy the Thai Village Cultural Show. The rest of your time in Bangkok is at leisure. |
